Finished Filming for the Copyright DVD

Wednesday, November 5th, 2008

Today we shot the final scenes for the Copyright DVD. We were shooting mostly out on the street and had to compete with all kinds of noises from birds, dogs, planes, trains and automobiles. A real challenge when you are using only the basic of equipment. It just meant being prepared to do lots of takes and to try and time the filming between flights and changing traffic lights. Today was another reminder that sound is so important in a film because if you can’t hear the dialogue you can’t understand what’s going on! I think they should change that old filming cliche to “Lights. Sound. Camera. Action.” But it doesn’t quite role off the tongue as well does it?

DVD Filming progress

Cameron Blair finished his interview on the weekend with Karen Gettens for the free CopyWrong DVD that will be given away at the Create O8 Conference.  Karen is a copyright lawyer and has a great office, high up in the Grosvenor Place Tower overlooking the harbour with majestic views.  Unfortunately when he tried to frame Karen against this fantastic view she was deep in shadow.  So… you’ll just have to imagine the scene.

Toby Trappel and Rob Harding also did some filming of demonstration videos today.  It’s been bright sun every day for the last week, except today - the day they needed bright sun!  Malcolm Williams

Well… this is the first blog post for Create 08.
